Regarding WotC - Yeah, the books are going to quickly turn in to the publishing equivalent of grinding. PHB2 has been out for less than a month and they're already talking about PHB3. At that point class/feat/power bloat will be so bad that the game will already feel overwhelming, less than 3 years after it's release. I look forward to hearing more details of what you saw.
