How Do you Tote Your Gaming Stuff?

May 19, 2008 | | Comments 0

I am attending Origins this year and am in need of new luggage. Specifically, I am in need of an elegant, light bag/box/bag of holding for all of my gaming equipment. This includes books and miniatures. Previous years involved me toting a laptop bag. I found this inadequate and a literal pain in the shoulder.

Searching the internet produced a few potential candidates, but I do not want to spend money until I checked with my readership first. I hope the “cloud mind” of the internet has some other options.

Here is what I found so far:

A jewelry transport case

An option I used in the past is a jewelry transport case, like the one below. I was quite fond of it, but it seemed better suited to miniature transport than books.

Tray Case

I found this one at www.sunvalleysales.com for $72.99, including the trays. A version without trays goes for $48.99. To be honest, a relative owns the site, otherwise I would never have found this item. I do not often surf jewelry supply sites.

The Zuca seat/cart.

Zuca cart seat

This one has lots of color options, an extendable handle and a built-in seat. I saw these at Origins a couple of years ago, but felt they were a bit expensive at around $145.00. The “Pro” verision is $250.00!

Haaldaar is very fond of the Zuca and I am leaning toward another jewelry case. They are both great options, but I hope my readership might point us towards other options.

UPDATE: I am looking for a better method to transport books, maps and a few miniatures. The miniatures are the definite minority in my bag.

Any and all suggestions are welcome!
