BattleTop Game Table from Crystal Caste Releases

BattleTop is a portable, collapsible game table that provides a raised surface for miniature gaming. I first caught sight of this item a at GTS 2009, but it was delayed until recently . The BattleTop table is 24″x36″ opened and comes with a two-sided battlemat. Here are some action shots of the BattleTop, both collapsed and open.

This is the very cool, but costly setup using two of the BattleTop tables.

I am seriously considering the $79.00 expenditure and picking up one of these. The idea of looking at the miniatures a something approaching eye level appeals to me. If I get my hands on one, I promise a review.

My only concern: Someone bumps the table. The top layer shifts and the whole mess topples off the table causing miniatures, dice, buildings and dungeon tiles to fly to the floor in a mess of pop, ruined character sheets and Diet Dr. Pepper stained manuals.

Then the shelving unit of fine china and collectibles falls over crushing the DM.

I’m just sayin`…
