Gen Con 2010 Swag Bag Contents

Every year Gen Con gives attendees the “swag bag” full of gaming goodies. Usually it is a plethora of dice, coupons, CCG samples and a mini or two. This year’s swag bag is very much a reflection of the American economy.

I will not give any further description and let my picture of the contents speak for itself.

Couldn’t agree more. Remember the year we got an Axis & Allies miniature booster and a World of Warcraft CCG Starter Set? Seems like decades ago, but not so! Very disappointed in the free schwag this year.

hehe…I work for a company that helps run the show and the unused bags for that year came back to us. I was one of the only gamers so I had like 100 of those for myself to go through. Got a pretty sweet collection, but only for Dark Portal. I went to the local game store and bought a box of the original set and got the turtle mount loot card, which I then sold at GenCon the following year, making more money than spent.

Thanks Trask, you have saved me from lining up for that anemic freebie bag.

The Exhibition Hall is likewise pretty sparse this year. Lots more space on the floor– no PC game vendors of any kind this year. If you were hoping to get a preview of upcoming MMO’s, there are none.
