Ex-Illis Miniature Game Gen Con Beta Kit Pricing and Contents

Bastion Studios released a list of contents for the Ex-illis beta kit being sold at Gen Con 2009 as well as the price and beta-tester requirements.    They also included a shot of the Ex-illis game board that comes with the Integral kit. The press release is re-printed below.

As you may know, Bastion is launching a pre-commercial version of Ex illis at Gen Con 2009. The Ex illis beta kit is only available in limited quantities and Interested gamers should apply in advance and create their profile through our website (www.ex-illis.com).

What’s in the Box?

The only thing pre-commercial about the Ex illis beta kit is the software and the packaging! As in the final kit, you get the following:

Ex illis INTEGRAL

  • 54 high quality plastic figurines (unassembled and unpainted)
  • The introductory booklet
  • The high quality plastic Ex illis modular gaming board (20 tiles, see photos)

Ex illis starter

  • 54 high quality plastic figurines (unassembled and unpainted)
  • The introductory booklet
  • A printed and laminated cardboard gaming surface

Both starters come with the beta version of the Ex illis software.

The bargain

Anticipated street prices are:

  • $169.95 US for Ex illis INTEGRAL
  • $79.95 US for Ex illis Starter

Now the beta prices are:

  • $60 US for Ex illis INTEGRAL!
  • $35 US for Ex illis Starter

Now what you need to do as a beta tester

  • Play a minimum of 1 game/week (a typical Ex illis game takes about 1hr)
  • Give us feedback, either spontaneously or by filling both the beta test surveys
  • Update the software on a regular basis to make sure you are always using the latest version

Notes:

  • You only get to download the “commercial” version of the software if you did complete the whole beta program.
  • All the gameplay data will be reset at the end of the program!
