  • Yeah. It is heated. Mostly about WOTC cutting back on promo stuff.
by Haaldaar via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:01:28 2011
  • Starting soon. The Inside Scoop: product plans and the story of D&D.
by Haaldaar via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:05:08 2011
  • The are talking how wide spread D&D is.
by Haaldaar via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:07:58 2011
  • WOTC wants to really focus on player experience. Lots of product programs.
by Haaldaar via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:08:54 2011
  • Like Encounters. Gamedays. Early release programs. Stuff to drive people to the store.
by Haaldaar via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:09:34 2011
  • The are talking about their twitter buffs. Funny. I removed them
From my twitter because the were spamming the heck out of it.
by Haaldaar via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:10:49 2011
  • Feels like a more “holistic” experience is the goal.
by Trask via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:11:11 2011
  • Presenter has a heavy accent. Tough going.
by Trask via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:12:28 2011
  • The third level of experience. Food, decorations, lighting, restrooms? I guess that is important for customer experience. Didn’t expect having to talk about that though.
by Haaldaar via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:12:32 2011
  • Strangely I can understand her French accent very well.
by Haaldaar via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:13:26 2011

by Trask via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:13:44 2011
  • Boardgames very successful. More coming in the future.
by Haaldaar via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:14:44 2011
  • 2011 is doing more of what worked
by Haaldaar via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:15:52 2011

by Trask via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:18:56 2011
  • Handing out packs of fortune cards. Wanting people to love them.
by Haaldaar via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:19:00 2011
  • Questions about using the cards in store events.
by Trask via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:19:37 2011
  • Dark Legacy of Evard is the next encounter season.
by Trask via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:20:47 2011
  • Can’t really blame them. Money for WOTC. Money for the retailers.
by Haaldaar via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:20:51 2011
  • Heroes of Shadow is the next encounters. Going in May/August.
by Haaldaar via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:21:45 2011
  • At least the are honest. They reset the players to level 1 for encounters so the players have to buy the new books.
by Haaldaar via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:23:20 2011
  • At least they are honest. They reset the players to level 1 for encounters so the players have to buy the new books
by Haaldaar via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:23:57 2011
  • 3rd 2011 encounter season is Aug/nov. The Lost Crown of Neverwintwer.
by Haaldaar via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:25:15 2011
  • Will create characters and play inthe WwGD for Neverwinter. Then play those characters in encounters. A lot of product tie ins for this season.
by Haaldaar via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:26:17 2011

by Haaldaar via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:28:40 2011
  • D&DLair Assault is coming in Sept. Replay again and again until solved.
by Haaldaar via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:29:49 2011
  • Lair Assault in September. Bi-monthly content. Meant to be played until solved. Very difficult fortune cards suggested. Hardcore dungeon crawl.
by Trask via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:30:04 2011
  • High level of difficulty.
by Haaldaar via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:30:05 2011
  • It’s aim
Is to recreate the con event experience in the store.
by Haaldaar via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:32:12 2011
  • It feels like the old delve night on steroids.
by Haaldaar via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:32:50 2011
  • Retailer is complaining about lots of TPKs. Wimps.
by Haaldaar via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:33:30 2011
  • Concern from a retailer that it will turn people off when the table TPKs.
by Trask via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:33:32 2011
  • WOTC says this is marketed
As very difficult and highly strategic. Come with your big-boy pants on.
by Haaldaar via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:34:51 2011
  • “You die, but it is so much fun”. WOTC quote.
by Haaldaar via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:36:23 2011
  • More info on Lair Assaults posts on WoTC website in a couple weeks. Playtime is 3-4 hours. That’s is some serious delving. might need to take a midway break for some roleplaying. :)
by Haaldaar via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:39:17 2011
  • Whatever the view of the players. Retailers LOVE fortune cards.

  • Those and Ravenloft all the same rules.
by Haaldaar via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:43:40 2011
  • Conquest of Nerath in June. This is different rules. Boardgame style. Board conquering. Think risk and axis and allies.
by Haaldaar via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:45:04 2011
  • Mini sculpts they did in the past are being reused into the boardgames.
by Haaldaar via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:45:37 2011
  • Retailer griping about limited miniature set runs. Ie 2 beholders per store.
by Trask via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:48:18 2011
  • Some claimed they want more. Others say they cannot give them away.
by Trask via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:49:32 2011
  • WOTC said the “never want to be in the business of selling replacement parts”. Should be interesting if they want to be a boardgame company.
by Haaldaar via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:50:59 2011
  • But I can understand their point. If the did that, people would use it to jus buy minis.
by Haaldaar via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 10:51:42 2011
  • Looks like it is winding down. Some Q&A, but nothing interesting. Retailer bitching, requests for pipe-dreams, and 4.0 vs 3.5 talk.
by Haaldaar via iPhone at Wed Mar 16 11:01:13 2011
  • Lunch time. Thanks for watching.
