Mayfair Games Purchases Lookout Games

It was reported today at SPIEL 2013 (aka Essen), that Mayfair Games has purchased controlling interest in the German publisher, Lookout Games (known for titles like Agricola and Le Havre).  Earlier in the month, Mayfair announced that they would distribute three new Lookout Games titles in the U.S.: Caverna: The Cave Farmers, Bremerhaven and  Karnickel.  We can see there is more to that now.

Mayfair will immediately start releasing future Lookout Games titles as they become available. Perviously published titles will be brought in after their current licenses expire with their current publishers.

Maryfair’s President, Larry Roznai, stated that Lookout Games will remain and will still do their own game development and artwork.

The only question that remains – Are we going to see a Catan/Agricola crossover?

My first experiences with serious gaming came from the Hero Quest board game. I then made the next step to the RoboTech RPG and a lunchtime meeting of AD&D Oriental Adventures. My interests now are pretty much the same. Boardgames and RPGS. Some of my favorites boardgames are currently Settlers of Catan, Battlestar Galactica, and Space Alert. For RPGS, it is Monte Cook's Cypher System. But I am always down for a good round of Dungeons & Dragons.
